As you are aware Australia is suffering from a skills shortage and this is no more apparent than in the mining, manufacturing and construction sectors.
Every Australian company no doubt would prefer to draw people from the community where it operates but at the present time with a number of trades and professions in short supply this is not possible. Governments both State and Federal have all recognised that it will be a number of years before the shortage will abate.
But that doesn’t meet the immediate needs of industry. The solution is to source well qualified people from outside Australia.
Of course it can be a daunting task but UVO has established a specialist service to provide your company with the overseas staff that you need.
Specifically UVO does the following at no cost to you:
- Identifies trades in short supply
- Identifies the best country or territory to source a particular trade
- Identifies suitable individuals in those countries and territories
- Assesses skill level through practical examination to ensure compliance with Australian standards
- Where work procedures are different to Australia, conducts a conversion course so that candidates are skilled up to work in Australia
- Runs English language courses to ensure candidates that have English as a second language are conversant in English to a level they understand work instructions both verbal and written and understand OH&S instructions and site inductions.
The advantages to your company in using UVO are:
- Save Time: UVO attends to all the requirements of the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs (DIMA). Just leave the paper work to UVO and devote yourself to running your company.
- Avoid Duplication: UVO utilises specialist migration agents in dealing with the DIMA this ensures that applications are completed correctly before they are submitted for approval and thus avoids duplication by having to resubmit documentation.
- Improved Productivity: UVO provided skilled tradespeople are ready to work in your company environment. If you utilise our “Ready for Work” service, candidates will be trained in your work procedures before they arrive at your company’s factory door
